Studio JVW’s latest concept takes boldness to new heights, designing a lavish penthouse for Amsterdam's most exclusive luxury high-rise - BOLD. Reaching almost 75 metres, BOLD aims to reset the standard of sustainable living - offering dynamic spatial units for any lifestyle complemented with next-level amenities and serene views. With the city of Amsterdam and the IJ river as its backdrop, Studio JVW explores a new meditation of luxury through the lens of sustainable yet layered design interventions, facilitating various modes of living whilst evoking seamless moments of comfort throughout the space. 

With each penthouse fully customisable, Studio JVW aimed to evolve this “blank canvas” into not only a functional space, but dynamic living spaces & styling. The result is an enlightened space with layered design enrichments that create different spatial hierarchies. By layering various finishes, the space feels larger and dynamic. Strategic areas are purposefully sunken in, to enhance dwelling and spatial signatures. Scaling the layering effect throughout the penthouse ensures cohesion and impact through sensorial and textural interior architecture.

The penthouse also includes an interior garden to contrast the industrial and contemporary finishes. This ‘garden in the sky’ unifies the space while leveraging the space's double volume. 

Inspired by the lavish interior gardens of the 1980s, Studio JVW reinterpretation brings a meditative and serene experience into the penthouse, while also honouring BOLD’s commitment to sustainable living.

The penthouse interior finishes and accents are personal & purposeful, embracing both comfort and a charming character. The furniture is a healthy curation of custom pieces and ethically sourced vintage finds. Mindful touches like the penthouse’s primary sofa is purposefully distressed with textured finishes to reinforce familiarity and everyday living.

Curious design objects accent the space - all of which are artisanal or bespoke shifting away from commercial brands and everyday “trend pieces”. While immersive art and sculptures complement the layering effect and are curated from contemporary Amsterdam galleries and artists.

With its latest concept, Studio JVW aims to reinterpret luxury living through the lens of sustainability and sophistication. Embracing and balancing luxury, nostalgia and modernity for a new approach to experiential living, one that is unique, personal and unapologetically bold.
